Dead Rising has surprisingly grounded take on the whole zombie virus thing despite the tone being firmly on the wacky side. All the main character is just average joes but they can easily mow down an entire horde, so against a full army squad they near effortlessly clean the entire area, and in Dead Rising 3 the main antagonist bring this up when the MC accuse them for trying to stage a coup/take over the world (like what half the RE villains usually do); the zombies aren't that good as military assets, instead they planned to use them as source of cheap labor.
Also in DR3 it brings a rather sobering bits; how would people react when bio-terrorists became somewhat common? Teach people how to deal with an outbreak, including teaching students how to put their former classmates/teachers down. (in DR3, once fully zombified you completely lost all your capacity to think and for all intent and purpose, dead)
