As a River fan that story its wrongly told, it wasn't that River Plate didn't want to pay for his treatment in fact they wanted in, but they needed his pass from newell's and was newell's that not only didn't want to pay for his treatment but also didn't want to give his pass to River in order to not give a player to a rival in the league, he then went to Barcelona because that pass restriction doesn't apply outside the country because fo the parental authority.
