while I admit it was a nice surprise, remember this dude is just a lower tier enforcer, like he'd be a mid-game mob in a JRPG, something like a Red Cap, a cut above the base goblins, but ultimately still mass slaughter material at best for a hero that's already out-speced him
point being, he isn't a high ranker in a sacrificial pawn group, and he's not high enough in his organization to grow the arrogance that leads to the whole "that's impossible" mindset
