The problem with this series is that it continually puts the MC into situations where's he's hopelessly outmatched, and often the members of his own crew/party are significantly stronger than him. It detracts from his presence on-screen. He's also an idiot that keeps approaching problems head-on and escaping through BS ways...

@nebukanezzer @Marco1995 the funny thing, is that in the "actual" story, he never goes into an encounter without thorough prep. The story got condensed and dropped a lot of detail, including the fact he always had a backup plan, and was confident in his ability to flee should worst come to worst. He's incredibly cautious as a character, but the manhua artist made him appear stupid.

Idk where the heck is the sect leader and why the mc is acting so stupid and where's Xuner and her family really a lot of things are missing from the story as they have shown that her family ain't weak and had a lot of wieght and the empire deemed him as a champion yet they didn't do anything for him same goes for the alchemy guild

Quite easy to understand why the whole Yun Lan sect is so corrupt when the topmost man is like that. Basically that old sect leader doesn't give a shit about anything, as long as nobody is attacking the sect, for any reason, not even in self-defense. It's practically an order for the lower levels to do crimes as much as they want. It's pretty funny such a sect isn't called a dark sect but is supposedly the protector of the empire. Must be quite a mafia empire.
