I think there should a filter similar to hentai, for finding coloured or b/w comics.

Personally I had problems with finding colored prints. As you may already know that some mangas does this, that they would post few beginning panels of the comic as coloured, I would see it and be happy that I found it and then boom it's b/w again.
It wastes a lot of time going into every comic and then having to check if it's coloured or not individually.
Personally I don't think it would be a problem to find b/w comics as japanese mangas are the dominant uploads. But someone could face that problem in some specific situation, but I have no example for it.
So the filter can make it all better.
You might say, but this would put a lot of workload on md team that they'd have to add a new filter to every comic out there.
I have a solution for that. MD should just add the default filter UCP (uncategorised print) to every comic out there and allow the contributors(uploaders/groups) to add this new filter. And add a time limit for a change made to that filter like 6/12/18/24 hours to avoid load/spam etc. There could be other tools available to mods like 'filter approval', tools to avoid troll/spam etc but that's all coding stuff, I think you guys know that already. At the end tho, all these tools would depend on user feedback.
This way, if there are results that match the search or something else, but are UCP, would be shown at the bottom under Uncategorised heading. And the fresh matching results would show on top.
