@impendio
Charon would never lose 1v1

You'd be eating your words if Beni were here.

@velamela Actually, a very reasonable way of beating him is to not hit him. Not directly. Parry his attacks, dodge them, then counter with indirect moves that don't attack him directly. He punches? Sidestep and pull his arm forward, sending him to the ground from his own momentum. He kicks? Same maneuver, but this sends him down even harder. And the best kind of move? Be very fast, grab his wrist, get around him, and pull his arm back far enough to dislocate his shoulder. That last one's the hardest, but it's feasible for someone that's skilled enough in hand-to-hand combat.

It's much like how Neo VS Yang went in RWBY.

@tuatara1 That's how shonen works. But that'll only happen if Haumea lives.

Kind of annoyed that all of that just lead up to "Oggun get's the shit kicked out of him, but at least he has teamwork :D"

@lokitricks13 I'm fine with it because Charon has literally dominated everyone he's fought before this. He's an extremely hard guy to beat 1v1. You're a fire user? he'll use your fire against you. Non-fire user? he's physically superior to most characters in the world. If he survives, dude is dying of radiation damage from that one fight. They may have some protection but it's not perfect like the doc said.

@R-Mod wouldn't work, sidestepping and shit, you'd be caught in the AOE. Trying to be that fast, physically stronger than him, and dexterous enough to dislocate his shoulder in that way? Extremely unlikely.

@swordmaster2551 Yeah you're right, excellent agility and good strength are way more unlikely than a 5yo starting a radioactive zone and a baby hearing the thoughts of all of mankind since birth. And Fire Jesus, let's not forget Fire Jesus.

As far as I'm aware, the blasts only occur when he makes contact with his enemy or the ground. His stomp blasts can be avoided by either jumping before his foot connects, or just grabbing him by the ankle and pulling, making him lose his balance. And you don't need to be stronger than him to pull his arm back. You just need to use his own momentum against him. Injuring joints isn't a strength feat, but a skill feat. And even if it were a strength feat, Charon isn't as physically strong as his pyrokinesis makes him seem.

@R-Mod

Well, good point, Benimaru (and probably Kurono too) would destroy Charon 1v1 but they are fucking monsters on their own so...
I do like it when side/supporting characters are quite possibly way stronger than any of the main heroes and/or the main villains but don’t derail the story around them.

Is nice that someone in squad 8 remembered "we are a team" right before Ogun was killed.
If they realized it a little before that they would had less troubles.

@swordmaster2551 Yeah he made his hands make contact with each other, which can also be avoided by either getting behind him - from the side, between his legs, or vaulting over him, yes I know the last one is the least likely, but it's still viable - or even making his hands not meet by misdirecting them. But that all can be put aside when we address the stupidity or glaring weakness in him where he screams his moves right before he makes them.

No this isn't anime norm, he's just doing war cries.

He's right, if you can't do it solo, you need a team. The best team, can move the biggest mountains.
