Nah, honestly you made it different but you can tell nobody can read.
You said "the FIRST letter of the PREVIOUS word"
But so far everyone's only done the LAST letter of the previous word.
However, that just means you'd be going through the entire dictionary for words that start with D right now.

The rules are pretty lax, you could write a whole paragraph and include the word needed in the middle, then the next person would just focus on the first letter of the last word of the paragraph.
Anyway it's better that way, that leaves more options for creativity.

But I guess it's more annoying that way, to see if the previous person respected the rules
