they scanlate stuff with official releases and put them all onto their website full of ads. publishers dmcaing them, that's it.

Thank you, that piece of insight was worth pinging 4 people for. I think most people understand the tenuous position of these groups and their websites, but some of the reasons a website goes down are much harder to recover from than others. Without a statement, it was hard to know when they might be back. Anyway, thankfully their new domain has been up ever since.
