I'm kinda disappointed with Hestia and Diana's character development, Diana more than Hestia. I really liked Diana's character in the beginning. Most antagonist OGFLs fall into one of two categories: they're reincarnators who only see everyone as characters in a game/novel or are entitled, two-faced manipulators that make the reader wonder how they were even seen as a heroine in the first place. Diana was neither. Her negative traits were things that could be seen as positive(or atleast brushed aside) in a heroine, especially considering her backround. Her desire for the nobles to be frugal made sense since she used to be a commoner who didn't have alot of money. At first, she probably pushed it so much because she wanted them to spend that money on things that would benefit their people rather than only on themselves, but has been struggling with this for so long that she's forgotten why. Even "holier than thou" attitude made some sense because she was gifted her healing abilites, making her subconsciously feel superior to others. I wish the author had delved into the idea of Diana realiseing that the temple is even more money hungry than the nobles and have her deal with the implications of that. I've lost interest in her ever since she started trying to get Kael's affection again. It would have been more interesting if her conclusion wasnt "Kael is the only one who loves me" but rather that she's slowly going back to where she was before, but now she doesn't even have her healing powers. Imagine this: Diana, desperate to regain her powers, goes to the temple to pray. While she’s there, she sees a sick commoner being turned away. When she asks why, the priest casually tells her that they were instructed to reject people who "look too poor." She confronts the head priest, only to be told that letting in everyone would discourage the wealthy nobles from donating and that “sacrifices must be made.” That moment could’ve marked the beginning of her spiral. She’s lost Helios’ trust, Kael is married to Hestia, the nobles despise her, and now even the church is betraying the values it claims to uphold. That would’ve been far more compelling than watching her regress into chasing Kael’s affection again. As for Hestia, her "I only live for Kael" is really toxic and I hoped she would have grown out of it by now.
