Honestly, I didn't expect much but it's already better than a lot of other stories of the same genre, mostly because it's still coherent rather than a random bunch of seperated stories happening at once.
...why would the world's best thief need to beg and pawn his precious heirlooms? It's not like the setting has traceable currency. Otherwise the set up for everything has been pretty solid.
@icarushector maybe he’s not the world’s best thief yet. Maybe his skills have been temporarily hampered (such as from an injury). Maybe he has a preferred target (i.e., corrupt officials), but has yet to find an appropriate mark. Hopefully they’ll explain sooner or later.
You know, the way the MC asked “but what’s this plot armor stuff?” makes me think he’s completely unaware of such writing tropes, which contributed to his own poor writing in his previous life.
If the guy is the "king of thieves" why wouldn't he just steal the money he needed? Kinda curious to see how it's explained in the coming chapters. So far intriguing story.
@helloworld123 Cause the protagonist has 98% plot armor, so the system makes him dumber for the sake of the protagonist, if you read other chinese novels/mangas you should have noticed the Inteligence level of the enemies
