It was such a nice feeling to see a depressed people fighting their depression and coming out of it as a better person (even if its just a fictional character), no longer depending on the meds and alcohol to numb their feelings and control their thoughts, even when all he has as a support system is only 1 person who happens to also rely on him for getting the affection he's deprived of.
