I'm also very much a fan of this type of rougher artstyle, from the mangaka that you mentioned, as well as others like Matsumoto Jiro or even some classic gekiga from someone like Shirato Sanpei. The shared link between all of these artstyles, I feel, is that you can really tell how the artist put their passion into each and every brushstroke, and that gets carried over to me, as the reader. Here's hoping more stuff like this gains popularity even more.
