Gosh so much nostalgia this is one of those series that leaves you with such a nice sad feeling once you finish.

Okay, after I saw that as a reply to question "How will it end", author drew a crying woman (and especially after words "human sacrifice" later), I was expecting something along the lines of

Tohru will be faced with a choice:

[*]Let the curse persist and Kyou imprisoned for life.
[*]Find a human who is liked by every single zodiac and sacrifice that person via ritual to break the curse. As the result they'll be freed from the curse and forget everything they knew about that person (something like Hatori's "memory wipe" ability).

And she, understanding that she herself actually is that kind of person, will go with it and perform said ritual to sacrifice herself. And everyone will forget about her.

Not sure which ending I'd prefer. There definitely was a huge, tremendous potential for a tragedy (and catharsis) here. Not every story needs a happy ending.

I'll never grow tired of this series. It was my favorite in high school and finished around the time I went to college.

At first, I thought it was some fluffy SoL story about a plucky girl and a group of young people who transform into zodiac animals (plus a cat). But of course, if you're reading this you know the story is so much deeper.

Ultimately, Fruits Basket is a story about learning to love. Learning to accept and love yourself, of course, and learning to love others. But mostly, learning how to accept another's love. That was the key--Tohru loved everyone. When you can accept that someone else loves you, that is the ultimate self-affirmation.

Live at your own pace. Have a forgiving heart. And love--open yourself to loving and being loved.

when i read the whole chapter, i reread it again cause i realised that it is not tohru but kisa.They looked so similar i can't-
And yes, i jumped to the last chap and watched the anime only
