I think there's something wrong with this kingdom. It's been shown several times that people in this kingdom push all their responsibilities onto a single person or set of people then start shirking their own duties and inadvertently isolating the people bearing all the load. Edda's research group gave up and started pushing most of their responsibilities on her. Lancelot's subordinates started leaving everything to him and essentially isolating him by pushing the invincible narrative. They didn't even try to help him in the fight against Barbarossa. Even earlier than this they gathered up all people with affinity for barriers, ordered them to form a barrier around the kingdom, then abandoned them.
This seems like a cultural problem, perhaps stemming from having a Hero who is the only that could fight the demon lord.
