OMG what a shitty ending for such a shitty manga. I read all the way through just to see if it redeemed itself at some point but it didn't. God damn.
The assassin character is just an asshole. At no point it is shown he had any REAL romantic interest in her and we are never told why he couldn't just quit his job, it is not justified. So the thing i get from that is that he just likes killing people. Fuck him.
Probably the worst love triangle i've ever had the disgrace of reading to the end, too. Never seen one where person a shows literally 0 interest in 1 partner and 100% on another who, in return, shows 0 interest back. That's not entertaining at ALL. That just sucks. So the assassin is not only a killer who likes killing, also likes cock-blocking and doesn't let her move on after 3 fucking YEARS???. God fuck this manga fr.

A better ending would've been he is arrested, we are shown why he couldn't just quit, she helps him jailbreak, which makes him ask her why go so far for him, she finally gives up her feelings, he says he can't correspond but he is moved by her sense of justice, he promises to stop killing and make an effort to bring down the criminal organization, he leaves. 3 years later: Bussiness man-san is dead from COVID, she is married to some guy we've never seen but are shown he's super chill and loves her dearly, they have 2 kids. They cross each other's paths. She turns back and there's no one. the end. That would've sucked less, at least she got railed by SOMEONE.

I don’t want to be too hard on the author, especially since she’s done some other stuff I am still reading, but yeah in terms of light bulbs this was more of a three-watt. Just kept going around in circles, and the circles it was going around weren’t even that good. For now I give it a 5/10 just because it entertained me, though if I ever reread it I might be a little less lenient.

Well, it was something.
I don't know why this specific manga felt like old comedy manga/anime. It had that all gags barely any plot thing going on(also nailed the ending being a nothing burger).

I'm kinda not even mad because I like retro style, and it wrapped up in 40ish chapters

I'm of two minds. I'm frustrated with the author for such a bad ending but honestly it feels like there was expectations of a sequel or SOMETHING. Otherwise I'd have to agree with everyone that this was not the sharpest hammer in the silverware drawer for sure. But we really in Chainsawman ending territory here.

This. THIS. That's the only damn question I wanted a solid answer to. How much did she know and WHY she did what she did.

Like it was always my assumption she was secretly some sorta assassin reformed or something trying to steer our boy right. I mean she did dodge his bullet shot like she was fucking Trinity from the Matrix. She certainly didn't seem to be just some bumblefuck chucklewit policewoman.
