To be completely honest, this whole story has been handled without much grace or tact. Everything is either horribly hamfisted or pulled out of nowhere for seemingly no reason other than to further complicate the plot. I feel like it's being rushed a LOT, like we should have had at least a few chapters to get to know the main character before the Cinderella curse, then a couple of chapters leading up to the homeless guy's attempted rape, so on and so forth. Instead we're being given Post-It Notes of general plot points and then have more shoved into our hands before we can even finish reading the first few scraps of concepts and ideas.

I dunno, I'm mostly here cause I subscribe heavily to the sunk cost fallacy.

It's fine, sure it would be better if we got dumped with whole background of mc earlier like in "Switch" movie, but we kinda had a feeling he was a dick, but now it's pretty clear stepmother and his mom fucked up him pretty well.

He isn't likeable, maybe there would be a change, but he sure is pitful.

Yeah, Haruhiko there getting disgusted by shear though of him emotionally attached with Isato kinda confirms he ain't fallen for him, hope so.

Switching from girlfriend saved him a hassle but saved him from yandare clutches, unfortunately she will fucking kill him now in a blink of an eye.

That's not "courage", that's just not being a human trash.
