Wah! I started to read American Psycho recently and now Bateman's obsession with brands and this manga themes are strangely overlapping in my mind.

Ditto. Only the first friend looked genuinely good in what he was wearing, aside for the overcoat, who brings an overcoat while planning to get drunk? It’s funny cause it disappeared in literally the next scene, which means he had to take it off. No duh, it’s not comfortable to drink while wearing something like that.

Plus the layers he had beneath it were definitely enough. Dunno how he added an overcoat too in that type of lax weather.
