The chapters are getting thicker and thicker lmao

This time, we talk about shoes! I actually don't know leather shoes can be split further to dressy and casual. This feels like the sort of thing only someone like dieworkwear would know about (or maybe I'm just that not up to date lmao), but it sure is interesting!

In my early 20s I would go fashion over comfort, got myself something from Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Converse, you name it.
Now I'm nearing my 30s and I've thrown everything that's remotely uncomfortable for my feet when walking, the age of Dad shoes are now

Haha, this chapter was a bit more casual than the last two I think, but I loved it this way

It also brought a distant memory that I thought forgotten, about how I used to wear some cool but a tad impractical pair of converses everyday because that's what everyone used at school lol
Nowadays I try to balance between what I like/what is presentable around me/what is comfy for me

Does Converse actually got used on basketball court back then?
Never wore them for sport, but that sole felt like it will make sure the power of the impact are delivered to your heel and ankle every time you land from a jump.

My workplace is not so strict, so I could get by with sneakers.
But I usually choose with minding the longevity. Such as solid thick soles so it doesn’t wear down as fast, and no white sole since they get dirty and ugly fast.
Sadly, most sneakers nowadays are white soles. Are those intended to be like colored toothbrush? As reminder it’s time to pay your money to the manufacturer again for a new pair even if it’s still wearable?

i know shoes can be fashionable but for me "comfortable to wear" is still the top priority. i do have a pair of oxford-style leather shoes, but you'll never see me wear those outside of work or some very formal event

It's actually easy to clean the soles! You just need a toothbrush, warm water and laundry detergent. Nike has a short article with instructions on how to clean your sneakers: https://www.nike.com/a/how-to-clean-shoes
