that therapist just made an irresponsible choice by not offering therapy to the as she did to his sister. hes suffering as much as she did for more than a decade, being completely overcome by pain and avenging his sister.
and this idiot of a doctor just declared to him that she actually destroyed his sister completely, but doesnt protect his sanity as well?
his only lifeline is gone in all but physical body (he already buried her once tho) and hes highly suicidal without her.
thats just rejecting his existence. that doctor is setting up a mental bomb there.

If I was the main character then I wouldn't associate with the little sister because her memories are sealed and being in contact with her could possibly unseal her memories.
