lol I know that's what it looks like but I promise I was already working on it. These chapters are quite time consuming! I know some people will MTL everything and can spit out 10 chapters a week but that's not how I like to do it.It seems like the only thing that starts you working on the chapter is someone else posting it before you lol![]()
I'm on my phone right now but to be honest both of them look pretty similar as far as compression artifacts/blurring.Well, for one thing, he has much cleaner scans than you do. I'm not sure what you're doing to it, but yours are really kinda blurry and his are much better, they're just a bit smaller...

Your call tbh. If you find something you like I wouldn't blame you for reading it, but it's up to you.Shame, he seems to be the only source of a number of good things. A dilemna to block him for sniping you.
🤔
Look at them again when you get to a computer.I'm on my phone right now but to be honest both of them look pretty similar as far as compression artifacts/blurring.
I download the raws from the official page and keep them in lossless formats (PNG or SVG) the whole time so in theory it shouldn't be losing any quality. I'll take a look at my settings though to make sure nothing is causing issues.
I'm always open to suggestions if you have any ideas for specific things to look out for.

Huh? Are you serious? Theirs is exactly the same, except the text is even more blurry and hard to read while zoomed in, so you probably don't notice the difference while reading theirs zoomed out. Beef's text is more clear so the difference is probably eye opening. Besides this is exactly the same as rawkuma puts.Well, for one thing, he has much cleaner scans than you do. Wasn't talking about the text. All's I know is that the larger resolution art is more blurry than the smaller resolution when reading it on the site. Now... the raw may be that way, I'm now on my phone and abt to go to bed, so I can't tell, but if that's the case then ignore me...Just filter out in the app

You're not completely wrong, they do look blurry, but theirs is exactly the same, except it's smaller resolution so their text is blurry as well, while Beef's bigger one has more readable text.Wasn't talking about the text. While theirs is blurry too, this one is too. Though I don't think it's you to blame for it, comic walker gives me same crap. Maybe it is the price of a free chapter?I download the raws from the official page and keep them in lossless formats (PNG or SVG) the whole time so in theory it shouldn't be losing any quality. Yeah, now that you pointed it out I also noticed this, at first I also thought beef's raws looked a little more blurry, but that's because his text is a lot sharper and that makes it look a little jarring. The raw quality is exactly the same indeed.Just filter out in the app

I think I may have found the reason for that. I realized my software was automatically rescaling it from 72 to 96 DPI, so when I was exporting it as 2x scale, it was actually like 2.66x scale. I'm going to redo it at a true 2x scale and see if that looks better.Wasn't talking about the text. The quality seems the same between images 1, 3 and 4.Slowpics link
Here's page 1 with the raws and my exports at 2x, 2.66x (current version), and 4x scale. The resolutions are 836x1200, 1672x2400, 2229x3200, and 3344x4800 respectively. It seems like there is a mild loss in sharpness in some areas. I'm going to look into this further.
It's not for redoing this one as much as making sure the future chapters don't have any unintended effects/compression. I played around with it more and think I found a better way to process the images. I also reached out to another group to get their thoughts on it.The quality seems the same between images 1, 3 and 4.
The text in 3rd looks sharper than 2nd and 4th is the sharpest.
2nd image is more blurry than the 1st for some reason.
Honestly I don't see any point in redoing everything unless there's better raws somewhere.
