This is probably one of the better written and paced isekai manga out there.

The characters are well written, the premise is very well thought out and the world feels more like a real, living world. It's rather close to the concept of the Ascendance of a Bookworm series but with a heavier emphasis on the idea of passed-down knowledge than drama. Also, the fact that the MC is a reincarnator from another world is used sparingly but effectively as a factor in various key decisions he had to make in the chapters up until the latest one (ch.18). That is to say, I honestly feel that the isekai trope is used to great effect in this one.

Thanks for translating this and I can't wait to read more!

The main character starts off as a clever knowledge hungry kid with some vague memories of his previous life, but as the story progresses his character rapidly devolves and becomes this annoying humble subservient loser type character pretty much out of nowhere.

As an example of how his character strangely changes, in one chapter he notices that the traveling merchant that regularly visits his village is corrupt and has been ripping off the villagers because they don't know how to read and calculate properly, so he blackmails the merchant and threatens him using the church to prevent him from continuing to trick the villagers.

Just 2 chapters later a village boy pushes him off a literal cliff in an attempt to kill him out of jealously, he survives with a big head wound and wanders around the forest until the local hunter manages to find and save him, the village prepares a funeral for the MC because anyone else would have died. Yet when the village doesn't properly punish the boy that tried to kill him, the MC does an inner monologue about how he doesn't really mind the murder attempt and that the boy should be more careful with his pranks.

The main character becomes this awkward timid weirdo after chapter 4, where all of his dialogue turns into this "Oh heavens, I can't believe I've gone and committed such a faux pas towards a lady such as yourself." shit for no reason.

Just a very unfortunate turn when his personality was likable up until that point.

I enjoy the series. It's better than the million other isekais and the isekai background helps a tiny bit to sets the initial motivation for the character to develop new things. Sure it's unnecessary technically, but at least it serves some purpose.

Yeah the MC acts all overly mature and I'm so sophisticated for a child keeps being milked but it's still enjoyable. At least it's better than some cringe edgy isekai, but I guess that the bar is low when there's so many repetitive stories. The art is well done when it matters and the characters are full of expression.

Yeah there's cliches yeah characters are one dimensional and lack depth blah blah but it's a good read to pass time so I recommend it.

This is one of the best premises for a manga I've read. The "light" reincarnation memories are all he needs to really step up to the plate and want more in life - and this spawns a chain reaction that is effectively him saying "I want to make my own kingdom." Everything he wants to accomplish and all of his goals long term effectively require him to become king of his own country to accomplish and spread.

Will the series make it that far? Will it go another route? Who will stand in the way of progress? I can't wait to find out.

Quite a nice read (ch26). But after seeing LN reviews it seems it went downhill in short author abandoned the initial idea of gradual technological recovery due finding ancient remnants who had robot like tech. level and slice of life element gradually went in to the shadows.

The MC is op because in the past life he is a pokemon trainer
What? I don't even know how to react to this sarcasm (if it was)
In any case what i was led to believe as usual the entry to this manga (LN) was good but later on author decided to shift gears basically alienating readers. It's quite a bad practice when description and first chapters change directions quite swiftly.
It's a bane of many manga authors they either shift gears all the time with sudden strong shifts OR they stagnate to the point of new bio-life forming in that stagnant cesspool

I'm enjoying the series so far , but I wash authors would do a little research before becoming an expert on things, I'm a farmer and since the dawn of time we have used manure to fertilize our fields, city ppl buy fertilizer, we spread manure over our fields, we don't compost it, we don't mix in straw or hey, or nitrogen, animals poop, we spread lol that simple, and now onto my next gripe, a city they call the capital all of a sudden has accounting problems that cause a food shortage ? Like I get the army problems of stockpiling and wear housing, it makes sense not having adequate personnel, but city tax revenue? Your telling me that no one can add, and they are flooded with paperwork, its just unreasonably unrealistic even in fantasy settings, with less ppl being able to read and write, there would be less paperwork and simpler forms of the paperwork, like in modern society you would have the town, number of farmers, number of ppl, amount harvested, amount collected as tax, amount sold from farmer, expected harvest for next year and so on, paperwork in the old days, you have town, amount harvested, amount taken for tax, and that's being generous, if your auditer can even write, you'd be lucky to even get a number, and in midevil times the army was sent around to collect and store tax revenue aka crops, its immersion breaking, but like I said other than the obvious problems I laid out, its very enjoyable and I look forward to more chapters, thanks for reading my rant

I had to give the first chapter the benefit of the doubt, but I'm glad I picked this up. Chapter 9 (sadly not here in MD) does something that is so amazing that it almost harkened back the feeling when I discovered FMA:B when I was a wee 11 year old. Eyecandy princesses that grow strong, support and protect their man, is such prime wife material and a great character arc that I'd love to see develop.
