those are baggy shorts used in sports competition. Im guessing thats an adult sized shorts but remember, this kids are just middle schoolers so its gonna look bigger almost like a skirt also doesn't help that they tuck in their tank tops. I dont know if companies already sell kid sized sports shorts this year and age but thats just how it is when kids wear adult sized sports shorts XD.
