I would rather take my time centering the dialogue in the speech bubbles and doing background details tbh, but you do youI read this twice (in EN & ID) everytime, but I find myself preferring the indonesian TL because they keep the honorifics lol.
Yeah, because ID is mostly honorific-neutral language except if you considered traditional and local dialect. It's not even 1-on-1 comparasion really.I read this twice (in EN & ID) everytime, but I find myself preferring the indonesian TL because they keep the honorifics lol.
I read this in both versions (EN and ID) and I find myself preferring the English TL because I don't understand Indonesian. 😂I would rather take my time centering the dialogue in the speech bubbles and doing background details tbh, but you do you
They're in middle school, second year now.I miss high school ...
In theory? A couple of ways it could happen, like Hicleric said."the reception must be terrible because of the crowd?"
is this a thing?
I don't disagree. A manga set in Japan should have its honorifics, end of discussion.I read this twice (in EN & ID) everytime, but I find myself preferring the indonesian TL because they keep the honorifics lol.
Well, that's too bad man, because I'm translating it into English, not IndonesianI don't disagree. A manga set in Japan should have its honorifics, end of discussion.
Yeah I'm just sharing my opinion re: keeping JP honorifics tbh.I don't disagree. A manga set in Japan should have its honorifics, end of discussion.
There are a lot of English TL that keeps JP honorifics, nothing to do with Indonesian. But if you think that's dumb, whatever.Well, that's too bad man, because I'm translating it into English, not Indonesian
I still see fantasy works, not set in Japan, yet they have Japanese honorifics, huh, weird, rule for thee not for me.Yeah I'm just sharing my opinion re: keeping JP honorifics tbh.

That's sophistry you're using to avoid the point. When you dropped the honorifics, you stopped translating and started localizing. Japan is not America or Canada or Britain. It has its own culture that you are sandpapering because of a personal conceit about translation. There is little to no extra work involved with too much nuance lost.Well, that's too bad man, because I'm translating it into English, not Indonesian![]()
As a famous French comedian once said, “I speak a bit of Turkish, but only under torture.”I read this in both versions (EN and ID) and I find myself preferring the English TL because I don't understand Indonesian. 😂
You do realize that with your profile pic, even such an innocent sentence takes on a sexual tone?LAWD THEY ARE GROWIN UP
