True I guess, and I was also thinking of actual years passed and not years of being in same class.
Aka, they are on their 10th grade together now, but are likely not much past 9 full years in time based on the context.
Due to this difference I was thinking they had 3 years before elementary, starting at around age of 4, which felt pretty young to me

That’s funny… Preschool starts at age 3 in my country, so nothing felt odd in any way to me.

When you thread the needle through one of the eyes on the button, go around the button instead of through another eye. When you pull the thread taut, you'll get lines like those.

That knotted button looks like foreshadowing. It's tradition to give the second button on the jacket away, but this is his shirt so I don't know if it really count as foreshadowing.
