I like An's character. As description says, it's not-quite-romantic comedy, and An is not really a character to fall in love. She definitely treasures Shunpei, and is happy she started talking with him again, but there's no romantic feelings between the two at all. Let's see where it'll go then

An's ambiguity makes me feel slightly nervous that it genuinely might not be MC, but judging by the vibe of the story so far, I doubt it's anyone but him that she's got an interest in.

Not sure if the wording is weird, it sounds like she has someone in mind OTHER than our male MC. Because he isn't her classmate anymore...

The way I understood it, she explains that they are some guys who technically meet the criteria to be a love interest (good grades, athletic, etc.) but that it isn’t enough for her, she needs someone whom she actually knows.

I know it's such a small detail but I genuinely love how he has a chicken coup around his house like that. Really reminds me of my own grandpa's home where I lived when I was in highschool. Really makes it feel how suburban/rural it is.

The author draws the characters' expressions so well; there is so much nuance. The chicken coop stare on the last page especially was pretty great. Anyone who is or has relatives living in a rural area has seen one of these things. And anyone who has seen one of these things will know what it feels like to relate to a cooped chicken on a spiritual level.

She is basically stating her views and answering her friend's previous question at the same time, that there are indeed some interesting people there (athletic, smart, handsome), but she doesn't feel that way since she barely know them, and for her personally, she feels like she can only like somebody after getting to know them better first.

more people need to read this, it's so simple that everyone started overthinking.

also i doubt it'll happen but at the age they are at all it takes is that one bam moment of love at first sight and all the "i want to get to know them" gets thrown out of the window.
