“One and only love” oof would be extra painful if ppl could only fall in love once , but at least the other friend didn’t hear it vs thinking “I still have a chance” but shame she didn’t light heartedly be like “let’s go on a ‘date’ after school to take ur mind off things” if not like for “practice”

From the first chapters I thought this was going to be a love triangle manga
But childhood friend became a background character, not showing up for 8 chapters straight (While only being in 4 chapters in total)
And now she finally shows up and author draws her like some kind of desperate psycho

Might depend on how long it'll be , maybe we'll get an 'arc' from her pov now since it was focused on the other girl
Well, there's not a tragedy tag so there probably won't be another misunderstanding that'll lead to a suicide with another one following after her XP Although it would be fucked up if she ghosted both of them if her parents did transfer like halfway across the country, although i suppose these days unless something happened to where her family was on the run versus filling out some transfer/telling the school/having to do some kinda paperwork (tho that'd be a wildly diff genre change), i'd imagine at least the best friend would have contact info versus her suddenly disappearing (tho i can totally imagine a really fucked up psych tragedy oneshot that's like "Since my feelings aren't returned, I'll commit suicide in front of you/outside your house so you never forget it")

On a lighter note maybe the next plot development will be the two love interests getting together because the MC has been ignoring them

I wouldn't necessarily say she's 'ignoring' the girl she's in love with, maybe distancing considering she straight up said "I'll have a normal love" even if she didn't come out, but idk if they'd necessarily get along, even if they strike up some friendship and hangout as a group i can imagine them getting even more jealous lol (dunno if any romantic chemistry tho, while i don't rly dislike the childhood friend i think she'd care too much about what others think even if she had a good reason to stop MC from being 'ostracized' tho it'd be more ostracizing if they were publicly a couple depending on the school dynamic, since she was pretty dismissive and calling her handkerchief 'childish' when a female high school student having a 'cutesy' design probably would be more 'socially unacceptable' versus a 'tough' looking male student having it)
if not main girl finding a new love interest as well as opposed to some ten year time skip where it's like "i've never dated anyone /loved anyone since" but other than some bittersweet ending of them accepting it and moving on, a manga is more likely to have a 'happy' ending versus something realistic
Maybe one of them will have a heart to heart with one of the classmates from the gay couple (wouldn't mind a spinoff of them too lol, if not a one-shot)

I don't mind it but i wish one of them still had slightly longer hair versus 3 short haired girls, versus it being in full color so they'd be distinguishable on a first look tho that's on me for skimming late at night on my phone
Well, that's part of being in high school and internalized homophobia/lesbophobia(?), but it's not as melodramatic as "My Girlfriends Not Here Today" yet lol

if this had a psych tag and she was more manipulative i can totally imagine her participating/ trying to 'ostracize' her from other ppl while supporting her after school /masterminding some situation like that or so but other than those little boys mocking her love of that Mitsuya bird story/artist, she hasn't rly dealt with any other bullies their age, if anything after she cut her hair, the girls were basically fawning over her like "So cool/handsome" , tho 'attractive person' liking cutesy things or something 'immature' for their age (which surprised would be a thing, masculinity aside, considering how Japan is mascot central for some stuff) is gap moe/appealing/endearing to some ppl/you'd get more leeway if you were above average in looks and a little bit 'odd' (unless ur being blunt to where you say offensive/hurtful things unintentionally) versus a 'gloomy otaku' outcast kinda look/vibe
