It seems to be a nice and wholesome manga, but the choice of monsters honestly sucks.
The couple is playing the VR game because allergies prevent them from getting pets irl and the synopsis mentions fluffly monsters specifically.
But the first monster happens to be an undead type bone wolf with no fluff at all. There's also a cheeply drawn boar, the obligatory but goddamned slime and a fairly ugly one-legged bird that's strictly speaking still the most reasonable pet (considering the synopsis) by far. And my question is: Why.

Well....its different, i'll give them that - but on the other hand, its incredibly boring. The story itself isn't even what I would call lukewarm, each chapter feels like the slice of life 0.5 chapters you see in other anime that kind of shoehorns in how the MC got their favorite cape at the market or something.

The character design is.....tragic, i have no desire to see the husband, the wife, the bone wolf, the pig or the slime - they all feel like one off background characters im not intended to get attached to cause they will never be seen again except these are the main cast. Dunno maybe this will get more engaging later on but right now, I felt compelled to skip through pages cause I was going to fall asleep otherwise.

Just finished reading chapter 5.1 and so far this manga is looking rather mid. I'm not too bothered by monster/pet designs because they remind me a lot of Final Fantasy with their mix of simple and complex monster designs. The character designs aren't the worst either, I quite like the wife's dark elf form but the MC looks generic as always unless you notice the blue hair in the cover art.

The real kicker for me is that the manga hasn't fleshed out the world much, basically giving us readers no information about it outside of there being some generic game systems and fantasy elements. Having noticed this in the first few chapters along with the main characters being a wife and husband duo with a clear goal (to collect and care for pets in the game they otherwise couldn't IRL) I ended up thinking this would be a more character-focused manga. Nope. The characters haven't shown much in the way of flaws, opinions, or paths to character growth. What I'm saying is that I can see the main characters remaining static the entire time in a world that also remains static.

If that sounds appealing to anyone who somehow read through this meatloaf of text then go for it, though personally, even as someone addicted to those repetitive slice of life fantasy manga slop, I think I'll at best keep this series on Plan to Read for when I'm insanely bored.

I’m gonna find someone that knows how to write extra bad stories and make them create a isekai where the mc’s only goal in life is speedrunning every single task he does, for example using Hermes boots combined with Taco Bell bean burrito powered fart propulsion to go to the next town that would only take a few minutes

Well there is an manga where the MC gets stuck inside the game he was speedrunning, he does some crazy stuff that shouldn't be possible. It's called RTA Sousha wa Game Sekai kara Kaerenai.
