still boggles my mind why the author still brought up the running thing, i know jiro wants to prove something with those 2 extra guys then that apologizing to his past self but isn't this already been addressed during the sports festival? he need to prove himself twice?

and the thing is I THOUGHT THE EXAM IS ALREADY FINISHED FROM THE PREVIOUS CHAPTER, is it some sort of mock exam????????
Right? He said the exam was over. He's not waiting on results or wouldn't still be studying for it.

I still don't get their "oh no, we can't date yet" shit, even his friends tell him in quite a direct and roundabout way how dumb it is. Sure, they do not need to overdo it, but it could help relieve stress if they didn't need to worry about their relationship status and that, in turn, also helps with exams. But it's a manga, so logic usually takes a backseat.
It's the idiocy of gating something important behind something you could fail at.

You could considered it as not wanting to let a relationship get in way of passing the test, or you could consider as a coward's way of putting something off just a little longer.

Well, there's some logic to it, but if I was in this situation, having unsolved relationship questions, I'm not sure if I could focus on the exam before solving them. Maybe, but maybe not.

Thanks for the chapter, MS.

It's funny, sure, but he's got a point. Apparently by the author's pen, Jirou's getting real high off the idea of romance, such that he's betting Akari on whether or not he can pass an entrance exam; Akari seems to be in on it, too. Whether or not. Did either one of them think about what would happen if either of them either fail or is otherwise unable to attend his/her school of choice? This is the kind of thing people do when they're in love with the idea of being in love, rather than actually just being in love; for some people, their love of the idea is all they have.

That's the actual "wanking"--Jirou's waxing dramatic over a prize he's already won.

If they love each other--which they do--there's no reason to wait. There doesn't have to be some proper time to start a relationship for maximum romance points or some other similarly stupid abstraction; they should declare it immediately to themselves and the world immediately, because they don't know what tomorrow brings. If all it takes is one bad emotion to cast a pall of doubt on the entirety of their loving connection, then they don't have the time to waste, because every day has 9001 sources of such an emotion--especially for people who are highly emotional.

That said, they're already in a relationship anyway. If either of the two started gallivanting with someone of the opposite sex, there'd be hell to pay. It's not because they're "just friends, but it's complicated".

I don't even remember if Jirou's parents were shown before, but wow, his mom looks like the grown-up tomboy archetype whose shoes Mei is now filling in for this manga.

As expected of a (former) runner, sometimes a run is what he needs to sort his feelings and clear his head. He should've just told them he's dating Akari, instead of being completely honest about their agreement. That way, maybe they wouldn't have said any weird stuff about FWBs (I feel like that was a dig at Akari being a gyaru) and it would've been a sort of power move, too.

Don't worry, Akari. I'm sure Jirou is also very excited to be officially living together with you soon.
