Those girls speaking smack about Jirou is kind of weird. Honestly he is like the least iffy person in the series, rather he just keeps to himself and plays games, not really weird behaviour.

Jirou definitely has trauma he needs to work through, and it seems like Akari is trying to help him but doesn't understand why he's acting like that. Basically the same issue where she wanted him to always stop apologizing, Jirou would rather say nothing and just take the pain.

Jirou as a person already has low self confidence so I feel like the comments added up to the built up trauma he already had

After the shiori arc I wonder if something happened to jirou for him be as we see him now, I mean, after they separated in middleschool after their misunderstanding, because younger jirou was a cool and confident kid, I don't see how jirou got such bad self-confidence. My man is like, 175-180 and looks just fine

I wonder if him being called "lame" or "boring" would have been more fitting. It's definitely being shallow and looking down on the introverted kid. though. Might need to get that mindset knocked off if they want an actual shot at happiness.

Jiro takes comments like that pretty badly. Between trauma and just still thinking he isn't a fitting partner for Akari just makes him withdraw. Too bad he ignores the one opinion that matters here.

It's so oppressively depressing following this MC. I'm finding it difficult to cheer for him in most situations... I mean, fuck man, grow a pair already--53 chapters and still a buster. :fml:

Yeah, the issues he's got seem to be so deep that there's something else that caused them we haven't seen.

I got the impression that it was mostly about comparing him to Akari, who's a bit more on the popular side. Only really says that he's not one of the popular boys.

For fuck's sake, for a guy who wants painfully to be a mob character J-man gives way to much of a shit about what some Freshmen are yapping about

Traumatized. That boy is traumatized. I don't know what happened to him specifically, but he's GOTTA be traumatized.
