This is probably one of the proper communication from manga with adult settings I've ever read.

I mean, literally adult people.

To Alcohol! The solution, and cause of, all of life's problems!

This is an optimistic spin on drinking away the pressures of capitalism. Well not really the drinking; story would work if their hobby was jigsaw puzzles or visiting temples. It's about finding interpersonal connections despite their jobs forcing them apart.

I think what bugs me is they are satisfied with infrequently seeing each other when they could be forming a union or looking for a different less exploitative workplace. Any job that keeps you until 3 AM deserves to be razed and salted.

Call it positive thinking, or call it anti-labor propaganda.

But the real gem was in the comments

... Totally not the couple from the authors previous manga, totally not. They are just a nice "family" huehue.
Exactly! Also they have different surnames! which the author took the trouble to point out, out of nowhere and without any real reason. So yeah... totally not...
...Also, 33 and no kids... almost seems like "they won't have children" ahahaha

Well at least in the final moments it admits that it's not all-in on its premise, but I still feel like it deserves an "* INDIVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY" in larger type than the title. Fortunately, these best friends who are super in love and communicate with each other are also happy drunks...

Also, dedicated sake warmer is now pretty high up there on my list of questionable single-purpose kitchen electrics. Always assumed the size of the average apartment kitchen over there meant you had to be pretty choosy about your appliances. Guess it's the Japanese kegerator.

Didn’t expect a romcom from this author but thanks

i understand enjoying alcohol together but if you're that tired after work i don't know if alcohol would help versus a hearty meal, tho setting aside like one day off work/weekend date would be good (odd they still have diff surnames but i imagine it'd be a pain for the paperwork if she did change her last name for work with marriage)
