Still ominous considering the narration last chapter about “the last time I saw her” (or something along those lines). But at least this story might have a satisfactory ending now.
Though this whole correctional facility family-bond excuse still seems super iffy, considering they Minami shouldn’t have to bother with them anymore (and she clearly didn’t show any signs of enjoying her life before...only loyalty). At least now Iori has the unquestionable legal high-ground considering that girl is not blood-related (though no story ever has gone with the “legal approach” to drama, so it doesn’t really matter)

Okay, while things still look kinda dicey, there seems to be a path forward for Iori. I was concerned at the end of the last chapter that Minami was from a family in tight with the yakuza, which could have meant little real support from the authorities in what, for Japan, is considered a 'family' matter & thus not readily open to outside interference.
