生徒 is the target (verb done to) of に処されない, right, unless I'm forgetting some grammar rule with passives and negatives, and shouldn't it be in causative 処させない for that? I also think it makes more overall sense with the whole chapter being about her doubts, and Kurona using that very kanji 2 pages back too. Passing it through Deepl gives me both, maybe it's meant to be ambiguous for both? I'll add it to the TL notes next time.View attachment 8421

The syntax [noun]に[verb]される means to be [verb]-ed by [noun]. With Tapris fearing student protests, it's in the context of students "dealing with" (like, disposing of) Tapris if she doesn't fulfill her role properly. The causative version 生徒に処させない would mean something like "not letting the students deal with". 生徒に処されない is about "not being dealt with by the students". The topic/subject is often omitted so a full version would have [noun1]が[noun2]に[verb]される: [noun1] is [verb]-ed by [noun2].
