If the manga really ends soon, then I think a lot depends on the reasons for the speed of it. After all, the manga is still popular and, due to the episodic comedy format you mentioned, did not seem to require a obligatory story ending (remember the problems Bleach or JJK had because of this). But here we can only speculate and guess.
I would say the main thing is containing the series in High School because that‘s a setting in which a lot of natural cohesiveness is allowed such as being in the same class/having similar schedules/struggles I.e. exams and whatnot. Unless the series goes on with all of the main cast going to the same college it’ll be hard to have them all in scenarios where they can interact as fluidly as in High School. Not to mention college is usually a splitting point for life where people tend to go into specialize fields so there‘d need to be more thought behind what careers each character gets into and that’s not even mentioning how to incorporate the current supernatural elements into it due to the comedic nature of the current series. So either the series would have to shift its genre to something more serious/focused or there’d have to be way more work done to developing the main cast for the series to move forward.
Tl;dr Right now the series functions because the cast plays off each other in an environment which lets it but said environment is “time restricted“ unless Ukami turns this manga into some sort of scenario purgatory which never exits high school, but seems unlikely with the mention of future plans.

Makes sense. If earlier I said that it all depends on how tightly Ukemi will fill the remaining time, now I'm really starting to worry after another commenter pointed out potential "time jumps". But for now these are just speculations, since we don’t know for sure whether he will stick to any schedule further or what intentions Ukemi really has in his head right now. But one way or another, there is clearly some point in constant reminders about timing, I think.

Hi! First time commenting in this site, was slowly reading this manga at my own pace since I watched the anime earlier this year and absolutely loved it so wanted to spend as much time with it as possible, and then I reached the Mika stuff (massive GaVigne fan) so I speed read all of it so yeah, this last two or so hours have been an absolute roller coaster of emotions lol, mainly because I was not expecting the characters to already be in their senior year so I feel sad it seems to be close to ending just as I was really getting into it,but still grateful that I decided to read it since it gave me the most joy I’ve felt reading a manga in a very long time, also wanted to congratulate and thank the translator for picking it up,had a little heart attack when I reached the chapter that had an “indefinite hiatus” announcement lol.
Even if there is not a lot of time left,I’m going to make sure I enjoy every second I have left with this story to the fullest.
