Thank you for the chapter.

Indeed, they were hungry for “mushrooms”. :sneaky:

It’s probably not gonna come up again, but I do find it funny that the artist tried to relate the mushroom drops to the characters. Though I have no idea why Norl’s look like that, the others can be better guessed somewhat.

Y'know, I really would like it if some of these authors didn't keep trying to play the Eunuch trope with their MC.
And also didn't go down the misogonistic abusive harem MC route either.

Either make them realistic and mature enough to handle a housemate in their room. Or have actual progress.
It's not played for laughs as-is: it's simply infuriating to read. Show his internal monologue at least for why.

I want character depth.

Norl has good taste. Mushrooms, most of them, do taste rather well. My favourite's chanterelle, which is one of the most popular mushrooms where I live.

She did that on purpose.

Norl best girl. Even if she gets a bit drunk on cake.

Yeah, that'd be better. Though I wonder what'd happen if she was in a more proper state of mind. There are a lot of people who do have an aversion to people who aren't thinking properly, and like in this case, so aggressive he can't really think.

But neither of them is mature enough to handle it properly.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that most of these WN authors (since we have to blame the source material) either:

A) Haven't had a relationship with the opposite sex and thus, all they know of relationships comes from manga/WN/Anime; or
B) Are marketing it towards people who haven't had a relationship with the opposite sex, and want to make it easier for them to imagine they are the MC.

Oh, there’s a perfectly good reason for that.

Contrary to popular belief, writing a romantic relationship between characters that doesn’t devolve into the above takes actual time and effort.

You are reading narou series. They’re the equivalent of reading from Fanfiction.net.

Wrong place to look for, isekai is escapism fantasy that was written exactly for lighter tone of fantasy. Not saying the heavier theme isekai didn't exist but those didn't have high view count in the syoutetsu (the WN site).

Besides due to the nature of WN adaptation, people tend to make their stories similar to the others to attract actual publishing editors that would serialized them into LN. That's why you got a template story with template mc and template heroines. This industry is just that hopeless unfortunately.
At least everyone here is in agreement that Norl is best girl.

Whoa whoa whoa brother that's a really bold claim when Estelle exists.
