Because, he thinks similarly to the premise in old JRPGs (like Dragon Quest), that the Yuusha killing the Maou automatically brings peace to the world. However, Maoyu (which definitely this series reminds of) subverted this notion, and nowadays manga and LN series are more likely to portray the Maou as a different kind of character (even a good guy) and the Yuusha and their parties as not entirely good (even going as far as being the true villains).

Yes... even the opening scene reminds me of the iconic "Become mine, Hero!" "I refuse!" of Maoyu! And said series even got the inspiration for said scene from Dragon Quest I! They even discussed how the Maou offering "half the world" to the Yuusha is old fashioned...

To be fair, it's really only the opening line.

I think it was around when the battle on the plains or such that were first introducing firearms that it got licensed and the scans stopped, and thus I did as well.

I'm pretty sure that the official releases were made available on the publisher's site, but then it just became trying to remember one more outside of Batoto...

I do also wish that the anime had adapted from that particular art style with the sharp and solid line work; instead of the softer, closer to the art from the LN.

I kinda prefer the art from the anime, personally. I really like Maou's character design there. Probably a contributing factor in why I like Pride's design from Last Boss Villainess so much lol

Not to complain but why is it like everytime when male author makes romance manga it's either love story where female character is typical perfect girl from everyone's dreams, basically with no flaws who falls in love with the most mediocre average guy, or it's just a harem story.

Seriously there's a sh1tload of this kind of mangas getting anime adaptation, why are people so crazy over stuff like this?

That's the main reason I prefer "shoujo" romance stories, written by female author, that at least doesn't make me feel like female character is some kind of doll/toy with all this perfection around her character although it's true that it's difficult to relate to male lead in such romance as male reader since they mostly have similar problem looking like freaking supermodels, tall, handsome and all but I still prefer their appearance and more complex characters than usual dull and boring trope of miss perfect falling for some random dude that's tiring already.

Lol "not to complain but" proceeds to complain.

It's just self- insert storytelling. Shoujo does the exact same thing only difference is the guys are the dolls. Shoujo tends to have some amazing guy fall for the plainest chick ever. Add in the dude has some "emotional problems" that only the heroine can fix and congrats you have "complex storytelling".

Lastly to point out this isn't the type of story I'd even put that complaint on since the dude is a hero with a mission. He isn't what I'd describe as boring.
