Not a big fun of the concept of "Emotions accumulate down here and manifest stuff, including monsters".

Here's waiting for the big reveal that the sky people are actually dumping either something with malicious intent to cause those things to happen, or some kind of run off from something of theirs aware of consequences an uncaring about it. (I like the latter more)

What can I say? I like a bit more of science with my magic, rather than pure "It's magic, just go with it".

well since the main premise of the power system (as we know it by this chapter) is “souls exist inside items,” while it’s not very scientific, it feels natural that souls then manifest in the garbage and create monsters. the premise itself is pretty magical so this is just more of that.

though i agree, it feels pretty simplistic so far. i’m curious how seriously this story will take the environmental themes or even its sense of morality. so far the sky people were presented as very moustache twirly villains.
