I liked Gachiakuta from the start, but it had a great amount of set-up it didn't capitalise on yet. It's still building and building and the pay-off was going to be great, but it kept me from saying "wow, it's a great series" and instead I was stuck with a "good series". Now it's 2 great chapters in a row, like GREAT-GREAT chapters. So here we go:
1. I'm making this point before emotions get to me. In NO WAY her backstory excuse Amo from Rudo getting a few punches in - just not a dozen of them, like he did. That being said, next point.
2. What a mortifying way of depicting child's SA. In my battle shounen manga? I want to say "yes, please", but let me explain myself. It's just so rare to see stuff like this being tackled in any type of mainstream magazines, that it did not really take my by a surprise, but it made me proud of the author. I don't want to be this guy, but (jokingly, guys) - A MAN COULD NEVER. It had to be Urana-sensei.
3. Nobody cares about this dude, but fun observation - other couriers hate him and as a courier he's getting a lot of stuff, right? Well, he's fkn stealing his deliveries xD That's part of the reason he's being hated for, aside from being a creepy recluse living where things tend to die.
4. All of that also explain Amo's supposed stunted development and her attire too. Instead of "because manga" or "because she's crazy", it makes sense. I... half-expected that. Only half, because madness and being a maniac, being "your character first and a person later" were very common in Fire Force. Now - due to known abuse of Amo, she might be saved. It will even make more sense if she were to be saved.
5. Is the killer from chapter 1 her "angel"? She seemed to be loving her abuser (you know, she was taught to love him), so something major is going to happen, if she's going to love his murderer as well. It makes me think though... maybe Legto wasn't such a nice guy after all? I mean, it might've just been to steal his book, but what if it's deeper?
6. WOW, so we still won't know anything about Watchman Series? We've seen the abuser holding the boots, so it's probably one of many packages he was supposed to deliver. Amo might not know anything after all.
