As an Aussie, I stopped smoking when ciggies passed $1 per cig. That was 15 years ago. A decent pack of 20s costs $40 from legal vendors these days. It got cheeper just to buy hard drugs. Why buy a pack when you can get half a g of mdma and have it last you most of the year?

Unfortunately for me, illegal smoke shops are selling Marlboro 20s at $10 a pack. Every time I hang out with one of my mates he just gives me a pack like it's a stick of gum.

It's not even that, you can see it here in this thread, people just want a reason to feel superior to each other. Laws restricting where you can smoke is fine, pricing it out of poor people's hands is a means to abuse them. It's the same with our alcohol tax going up each year.
