I like this, it makes Riyo a far better character, just like what Zanka got a few chapters back. NOW I do feel attached to both of them, although with Riyo it's more about being interested in her. After all:
1. She's a former hitman (so probably closer to Enjin's age than what her appearance and attitude would suggest) without any qualms about actually killing the enemy. It's only due to Enjin's rules that she doesn't. I wonder though - other teams, like Child and Eager might NOT have this rule at all then.
2. She used her gun to make a living, probably killing quite a bit of people and having to trust in her weapon to pull her through the dangers of her line of work... but her Jinki are those barbershop scissors. It's a very nice discrepancy tbf. Probably a job she wanted and was passionate about vs a job she got and had to do. Maybe it's also some kind of memento of someone important to her.
3. Speaking of which, remember what she told Rudo about parents giving you a lot of things - good and bad? They made that linger in the chapter, made us focus more on the bad, with the layout and all. Is her career path due to one of her parents upbringing? Was she trained to be a killer by her dad or something, probably with misguided "good intentions"? Or am I not close at all?
4. Riyo's comments on Amo make me step back a little. It seems like she feels responsible for what's happening to those they get in contact with. Like, she feels it's their fault for whatever happened with Amo, but also knows, that logically, it's all about the Vandals and they need to pay for this. Thus, Jabber with perforated chest.
5. I wonder if maybe her attitude towards Rudo comes out of place of "let's protect this child, he shouldn't be in the darkness for too long"? Maybe she had to become a hitman while being very young and she sees how messed up she is. Doesn't want Rudo to go down similar path - of either becoming a killer and feeling nothing when you kill or becoming a victim of some dark dealings, like Amo. That's not something Riyo can do for Rudo though - not with warmth and attention, at least. He will just feel like he belongs with the Cleaners, but it won't stop him from achieving his goals.
6. Gotta visit Amo's place IMMEDIATELY after getting out of there.
