mm It's definitely not good. I won't say it's over just yet but... I think it is a sign of the beginning of the end. If they got hit with one mass DMCA, they'll get hit with more, until 90% of the catalog is gone and nobody's uploading here anymore.

Jokes on the publishers though. Fighting piracy is always a losing battle. There will always be other sites, hosted in countries that don't give a flying shit about copyright that they can't do fuck all about. I'm old enough to remember the old days where you had like 7-10 different sites with ever changing domain names to dodge legal complaints, it'll just return to that. Shame, because I do like the sense of community we have here on MD, I will miss it when we're all scattered across the net again.

But, we'll see. At the very least, maybe MD will remain as another tracking type site like mangaupdates. But unknown if the mods will find that worth keeping going, especially for free. I'm already amazed they get so many people to volunteer their own precious time for this as it is haha.
