However, I have MAD respect for Noots folks for doing what they think is the right thing. Thank you for your hard work and all the Babysitters chapters you've done. I suspect that in the future most will prefer your translation work to the 'official'.

Unfortunately comikey, aside from using a massively monetized system that let you read only 1 chapter for free a single day of the week, don't treat their series very well.

I currently read 2 series from their site, Battle after 5 seconds of meeting and Tokyo Duel.
Battle after 5 seconds of meeting has been basically dropped, not being updated since 2024 while Tokyo Duel took at most 2 years to reach the point where the scans stopped, with their translation being much worse to the point of being sometimes nonsensical (missing verbs or punctuation, phrases translated in a wonky way).

I'm so sick of these "official" scanlation websites grabbing as many series as they can and locking them all behind paywalls, bro...most of the time they're not even good quality. It's killing people's ability to find series that aren't physically published in English yet.

I respect you guys as a group and understand the legal fears that come with scanlation but you don't need to pretend you're dropping this series for any other reason besides legal issues. Comiky isnt good service and id be shoked if the mangaka gets a dollars worth of revenue from them. Just say it as it is "we gotta drop this we dont wanna get sued " that said thank you for your hard work it was greatly appreciated and enjoyed. Best of luck with your future endeavors

Well, that's capitalism.
I'm imagining a public portal that has all the stuff for free and pays authors per download, on a gradually diminishing sliding scale. Translated works would pay the author and the translator.
