That's fair it definitely wasn't too bad. Maybe it's just my personal experience with manga. Overprotectivw siblings always just feel off and he was better than most I suppose.

I dunno why japan has a huge obsession with overprotection and romatic jokes between family members. (I've seen it with fathers, brothers etc)

As someone who has an overprotective family of which all my siblings are comparable to Luffy in that sense (By that I mean if it meant declaring war on the world to help me: they'd do that in a heart beat) it just makes me internally vomit a bit. I've even dropped some series where it got really bad. Hell I dropped SpyxFamily cuz of Yor's annoying brother.
