I wouldn't go giving props to the MC just yet. It's more like giving props to the harem for just outright saying they're in love with him and actually putting the concept into his head, as opposed to several hundred chapters of easily-given-up-on attempts and not-so-subtle allusions to it that the MC will never, ever get.

I understand on a legal level to not date his student bc he will get fired and probably arrested. But when she brought up dating after she becomes a graduate that's really got to me bc if he said no all that would seemed wasted in a way. It also brings up the idea to the MC that he can deny them all they want but when they become graduates they he really has nothing to deny them. Except for just they them honestly that he doesn't have any romantic feelings for them or that he moves away to a different teaching position and doesn't tell any of them, either which that would be an awful heartbreaking ending.

I'm pretty biased because older guy + plus younger (mainly adult guy and younger teen) girl isn't all that interesting to me. In fact, it gets pretty damn creepy when you get to Usagi Drop levels. But I can get on board for this one. He's only like 23-25 years old at most and he pretty much just graduated college while they are 16-17 years of age and in their second & 3rd year of HS. Two years at most and their adults so with his age, it's not that bad.

Stoked that he isn't a complete tard and the girls are being straightforward about things and the author isn't just jerking us around to prolong his story.

Author is still kind of jerking us around. MC acts dumbfounded like he had no fucking idea. I'm always surprised by this sort of stuff, like, first off, he's a man. If he's a normal guy he's at least considered his feelings toward every attractive young woman that he's been in close proximity to. The idea that he's just suddenly blindsided is silly. No one's THAT dense, and if he WERE that dense, he'd just immediately reject all of them. You don't fall for someone because they fell for you, there has to be an initial attraction on both ends to begin with.

Anyways, not sure exactly what the proper procedure would be in Japan, but I've worked in American schools and if a student said something like this to a school employee, that employee must immediately go to the principal and report that inappropriate statement, and the student would find him or herself in the counselor's office within the day to get a firm lesson on why it's inappropriate to say things like that, etc., and the teacher would make sure he or she is never alone for even a split second with that student again.

In fact that's the standard policy for many teachers - especially male ones -- to never, ever, ever, ever, EVER be in a closed room or anywhere else, one-on-one with a student, because even the smallest whiff of an allegation or improper relationship could permanently tank their careers.

In this moment Yabe's mind is split in three segments: one segment is the teacher one that is full with hopes to see his students grow happy, the other segment is debating if he must cross the line in hopes of a romantic partner, and the third one is dead because the blood expected to nourish those thoughts is going "somewhere" instead of his brain.
