Honestly it's really hard to like Miku, she's loud boorish and stupid, her black haired friend Ooishi Makoto is a better character than her honestly if she were the titular gyaru then it'd be an easy steal as best girl.
What seems more frustrating is how well Fujiwara is portrayed, hard working and diligent with two younger brothers and seemingly raised alone by her mother yet able to become the student council president by sheer hard work, it really puts Miku's lacklustre presence into perspective and makes this series difficult to read since Fujiwara seems set up to lose unless she picks up some gyaru fashion traits and becomes the true titular character...
Pity Nagisa, she's spent over a decade trying to tempt him to woo her and got nowhere.

Well actually, Makoto was the main character of this story in the oneshot (too bad it isn't translated here) , and Miku was just here for the comedy.
That's why Makoto was the author twitter avatar for a long time.

But i like Miku, characters like Fujiwara are extremely boring for me, i see them in nearly every rom-com.
