What's the odds of them now going to post offices all over the country to make deposits?

It would actually be really funny and satisfying if this ends up having no relation to the main plot aside from those two making a cameo reappearance. I've been trying to figure out how the camping trip would move the plot forward for the past few chapters, and I was worried for a second that in the morning, those two had somehow figured out about the Teiai bounty and were trying to capture Kaiji and co. that I forgot that Fukumoto is just good at writing funny stories about middle aged men being losers. It would ruin this mini arc for me if it somehow led to them being found out.

I can't believe they didn't run into the vice-president guy.

Your dedication is greatly appreciated Chang. ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
While it's nice to see our fandom racking up theories, I just know that this encounter is just a small break for the boys.
Drunkard Kaiji is as good as crybaby Kaiji lol.

The post office tidbit will come in handy eventually. Teiai will figure out a way to stop them from making bank books or withdrawing the money and getting caught, but the post office is a different matter.

As a government institution, Teiai cannot lean on it the same way they can for the private sector banks. It's also a monolith that had huge reserves until Junichirou Koizumi liberalised it. For Mario and Chang they probably won't need it since they're not citizens, but Kaiji needs to remember this for later if the other two make their escape and he's cornered again.
