Most likely Endou is as much of a junkie as Kaiji is. Kaiji will not stop gambling even if he's rich enough to live in another country as one of the richest person there. Endou, despite probably being set for life, can't stop working at one of the most powerful companies in the world as a fairly high up manager. Endou since the very beginning has always liked looking down on others. He's not inherently a monster, but it's the fact that he's even hunting for Kaiji in the first place when Kaiji is the very person who's set him for life, that he clearly values being the hound dog more than money

Look it's quite easy to end the demon kings reign. He's old. Just say he died of an illness and no one would care. Or he killed himself because his son is in a coma. Nobody actually likes him so everyone would be fine if he died. If endou just pushed him out of the window then kurosaki the much better boss would be the new king. The men in black would shut their mouth's because they didn't like Hyodo either. They would have the excuse of Kazuya being in a coma.
