Actually cardio kills gains so you're doing the opposite for him right now
I mean, if you only do cardio, yeah, obviously you won't be building much muscle, especially since you don't want much mass for jogging, but if you balance cardio with muscle training, you shouldn't be losing muscle from exercise. Source, literally every single answer on Google if you Google "does cardio kill gains" (though for more reliable sources, Alyssa Olenick PhD, a physiologist studying exercise, says "the likelihood of cardio negatively effecting your gains is doubtful")

Great comparison! This is a cool highlight.

I’ve been doing high intensity interval and it’s amazing, even going 1.5mi on hilly terrain gets my quads sore for days; it’s been an absolute delight.

I’m also seeing some more chest and trap volume, despite not changing my routine other than changing steady state cardio -> high intensity interval cardio.

Can’t stress enough how good high intensity is.
