Oh no, I don't want to mess with the main story. So I went and got hired as a guard under the city where I know that a key character lives and is in charge of the area. But that's just because I really wanted front row seats to the spectacle, but I also wanted absolutely no interaction with the main story. But I so wanted to see it up front. Oh but why am I getting so unlucky and interacting with the relevant characters when I don't want to. She knows that I'm super strong, but I don't want to stand out, man why am I so unlucky and why are my plans on being a mob falling apart when I don't want to impact the story by being so dangerously close to all the relevant characters.
Oh woe is me, I'm unable to grow the balls to just admit to the fact that I screwed up over the supposed intents that I have and that I should just get in there.
I really hope this song and dance ends fairly quickly, because this is the sort of gag that can get irritating over time fairly easily if the writing isn't up to par. At the very least make him aware of his hypocrisy and stupidity if you insist on making him continue to attempt at being a mob and make him fully aware he sucks at it.
