Fall back, allowing the Mell to gain salients that include a major city, wait a month then push them out using your newl "total war" backed economy and massively bolstered armies.

The reason people (for xertain values of people) like the pig dont get 100% behind the war effort is becauw they're not afraid of what will happen if thee war is lost. They think they can bargain or bluster their way into positions of power in the new regime, or that nothing truly bad will ever happen to them. After all, they've managed to get through life without consequences so far, right?
