that... worked out much more easily than I thought?

For a while I thought Ryou was trans, but I guess he's mostly just bi and way more into dudes?

@pokefairy
I know memeko loves HIM, but it seems a bit simple for him to enter into a romantic relationship with her that easily. Munko is usually much more devious than that

i'm still okay with this

@pokefairy Well, the pronoun situation is a little different in Japan because the gendered pronouns in Japanese are generally first person, as opposed to third person in English. Ryou uses the feminine first person pronoun "atashi." I don't believe that anyone has used a gendered third person pronoun while referring to Ryou, but many of the characters have referred to Ryou as male, which is why I've defaulted to "he" whenever it comes up (and "homo" when calling Ryou an okama, though I could've handled that better). I figure that Munko wasn't worried about misgendering because Japan isn't exactly progressive about LGBT issues, but since Ryou's identity and orientation are similarly nebulous, we can come up with our own explanations to address it.

@Mogima Just checked, it was chapter 29.

@pokefairy In Japanese law, you aren't trans if you haven't got a doctor's diagnosis and started the transition process. He is just a feminine man that like crossdressing.

I don't understand why people have a need to label a character as trans anyway. Just like in Dororo where the girl cross-dressed as a boy to protect herself and people labeled her as trans. I myself act masculine, wear men'clothes and dislike how inconvenient the female body is , wish I was born as a man but it doesn't mean I am trans.
